Pre Treatment Instructions for Botox, Dysport and Facial Fillers

For one week prior to your treatment, please avoid taking:

  • Aspirin
  • Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and Aleve
  • Supplements such as St John's Wort, Vitamin E, Fish Oil (Omega 3)
  • Melatonin

These agents may increase bruising and bleeding at the injection sites. (Tylenol is fine) Please let Dr Baskin know at your consultation if you are on another medication that may increase your chances of bleeding and/or bruising. If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another recurrence. Please notify Dr Baskin at your consultation if you have a history of facial cold sores as she may prescribe a medication that minimizes the chance of a recurrence.

We do have Arnica available in our office. Arnica is a homeopathic remedy that may help reduce the swelling and bruising associated with your treatment. It is taken immediately prior to treatment then 2 times a day for 4 days. Please let Dr. Baskin know at the time of your treatment if you are interested.
